The Smart Switch was designed to ease the use of your high beams along with additional lighting. Optimum illumination is our goal with a single switch. The legal requirements offer a wide range of possibilities of integrating different light sources. The two main sources of light are already on your vehicle and are not used at the same time - your low and high beam lights. When you switch from you low beams to your high beams the low beams go out and your high beams come on! See illustration BELOW:
